Babe Winkelman Remains On Polar Kraft Team

January 26, 2012

After watching his personal boat being built from start to finish at the Polar Kraft plant in Syracuse, Indiana, fishing superstar Babe Winkelman had an even greater appreciation for the brand’s quality and craftsmanship.

“You know, the only good trip is one you return from safely,” said Winkelman. “And with my Polar Kraft Kodiak 200 and my Evinrude E-TEC 225, I know I’m in good hands, even in big, rough water. When you’ve been in the plant and seen how they exceed standards even on things most people will never see, it really convinces you of the quality. And when you’re out on a big lake with 25-mile-per-hour winds, you will feel it. It’s a soft, dry, safe ride you’ll really appreciate.”

Now going into its fourth year, the relationship between Winkelman and Polar Kraft is stronger than ever. And it means that Winkelman will once again feature a Polar Kraft Kodiak 200 on his top-rated television show, Good Fishing.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue the great relationship between Polar Kraft and a true outdoorsman like Babe Winkelman,” said Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Doug Sexton. “Babe’s nationwide popularity as one of the founding fathers of outdoor programming on television helps us tell the Polar Kraft story in markets across the country. He believes in the quality of Polar Kraft, and just like our boats, he’s always ready for action.”

With a focus on teaching viewers how to fish, rather than simply demonstrating his own skills, Winkelman has attracted several generations of fans over the course of his 30-year television career with his easy on-screen presence. His family-oriented show, which airs almost daily on the Versus Network, frequently incorporates his wife, Kris, and his daughters and grandson.

“If I didn’t believe that Polar Kraft the best aluminum fishing boat on the water, I would not be recommending it or be associated with it,” said Winkelman. “I’ve never promoted anything I didn’t fully believe in, and I don’t think you can get a better boat for the money, period. In today’s economy, you don’t want to make a mistake on a major expenditure. You can rest easy that Polar Kraft is a tough, well-built boat that’s also a great value.”

Nautic Global Group sees the value in extending the sponsorship agreement not only in terms of building credibility among outdoorsmen who watch Winkelman’s fishing and hunting programs, but with its dealer network.

“We deliver on our promise to our customers that, while we may not be the biggest name in aluminum fishing boats, we build tough boats that are packed with features and designed to be used out there in the real world,” said Sexton.
